That was me before I found the secret formula to a bearable green smoothie…. and It’s was easier than you think. All you have to do is balance out your fruit and veggie ratio. A good mix helps the fruits and veggies not be so heavy.
But why a green smoothie?

Great questions – understanding the why should always be the first thought when it comes to your health. There are so many health bandwagons every year that come and go after having everyone and their mom by a chockhold. This green smoothie utilizes hundreds of years of natural healing remedies and is packed with natural probiotics, fiber, anti-inflammatory fruits, veggies, and electrolytes. Food being used to heal the body dates back to 400 b.c. Which is when the famous quote said by an ancient greek physician was coined.

That is just one of the earliest confirmations of food being used in a medicinal sense.
Why a smoothie for Gut Health
When plant fiber has been blended together it can be easier for your digestive system to digest. Which will make the “good” bacteria in your gut very happy. It is also a quick way to get in lots of fiber, fruits, and vegetables!

The ultimate gut healing green smoothie
Ingredients
- 1/2 Avocado
- 1 cup kale
- 1 cup Spinach
- 1/2 Green Apple
- 1 tbsp Ginger
- 1 tbsp Honey
- 1 tbsp Ground Flax seeds
- 1 tsp Lemon juice
- 1 cup Coconut Water
- 1 scoop Grass-fed collagen optional
Instructions
- Add all ingredients into a blender. Blend until smooth.
- Add extra squirt of honey to taste
Smoothies aren’t the only way to get in your gut-healing food for the day. But for me, a quick smoothie full of nutrients, fiber, and my vegetables for the day is the easiest way. I don’t love eating vegetables and fruit so being able to save my others meals of the day for my favorite foods helps me stay eating gut healthy.
